Happy Halloween!

Oh, the things that have happened lately. Lets see.. when did I post last, Monday? Ok, lets just go from there.
Monday night we had a storm. Hurricane Sandy hit not too far from me and then a blizzard came in and was swirling around with Sandy, just lingering in my area. We got quite a lot of snow, but our power stayed on. My mom wasn't as lucky. She's without power and probably won't get any until next week sometime. My brother's power just came back on around noon today.
The weather was so bad they canceled school. I almost didn't go to work, but I powered on because it was moving day. Trees were across the road everywhere and I basically slid all the way to work. The roads weren't treated at all. I left work early for Zach's Halloween party. It went good. He had fun after he was awake. I woke him up when I got there and he was a bit grouchy and cried and fought with me when I tried to get his costume on him. There was only him and his little girlfriend from his class there so they put them in the 2 year old class. Altogether, there was 6 kids. Good thing too because a lot of teachers called off work. He wanted me to carry him at first when we started trick or treating through the Y until he noticed that he was getting candy. Then he wanted down and do it himself. He wouldn't let anyone put the candy in his bag. He wanted to carry it all in his hands. When we were done, we went back to class to eat cupcakes and other goodies. He licked the icing off his cupcake and chewed up a tomato and spit it out. Then he was too occupied with a sucker, he didn't eat anything else and just laid on me instead of playing. So we went home
We carved pumpkins yesterday. Zach wasn't really that interested, but Lilly had a ball.
There wasn't any school today either due to the number of power outages. If you haven't read about what's going on with the weather, you need to do it. New York and Virginia got hit real hard with the hurricane and West Virginia got his real hard with the blizzard. Its crazy.
I finished moving at work today since I left early yesterday. I've been running around like crazy and haven't gotten much done, really. There was a Halloween party here, but a bunch of crap went down and I didn't go, but I did have to order the stuff and go pick it up.
I think I'll stop here...I know its in the middle of everything, but I'm actually wanting to calm down a bit before I write about today.... so here's a bunch of pics from yesterday.

Long Week

I've been staying pretty busy. The move at work is tomorrow, so I've been cleaning up and trying to catch up with some work that I've fallen behind with. Its not a big move, we're just moving 2 floors down, but it'll take pretty much all day. Zach's Halloween party at the Y is tomorrow, so I have to leave early for that. If there's even a party now. Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, things are looking a bit shaky. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow! Its been raining for 3 days straight. The fall festival party at the Y on Saturday was a bust. They had to cancel all their outdoor stuff like the inflatables, horse rides and hay ride. A lot of people still showed up and we were all packed inside with mostly carnival games and face painting. Sunday we had family pictures at the fire station. It went ok. Zach fell asleep right after pictures, so I got to go into Walmart and shop by myself while hubby took Lilly to get something to eat and let Zach sleep. It was nice. It was crowded because everyone was preparing for the big storm. Me..I just needed stuff. We were almost out of everything.
Zach was supposed to be a pirate, but his costume was a bit snug. I waited until last minute to put it on him. So, he went in all camo to the fall festival. Lilly went as a vampire. She could actually still fit into a costume she had 3 years ago! We popped in some plastic fangs, painted her nails black, put fake blood down her chin, put in spider earrings and a skull bracelet and she was all set. We got Zach another costume yesterday. He's going to be a soldier now. I have to sew it up a bit because it ripped last night.
We are carving pumpkins tonight. I know its kind of last minute, but its the only time we have to do it and hubby is even missing his weekly meeting at the fire station. Trick or treat is tomorrow, but the way its looking, we're not going out. Temps are going to be in the 30's and its going to snow. The kids got some candy Saturday at the Y and I'll probably go buy some more just to have. Lilly said she doesn't want to go out this year with her father, but there's really nothing I can do about it. I just hope he has enough sense to not go out if weather is bad.
Thanks to Facebook, I've gotten back in touch with a few people that I haven't talked to in years. I invited one girl to come to the fall festival at the Y on Saturday and she came with her little boy, Carter. Her name is Rachael. We were great friends our senior year in high school and into the first semester of college. She dropped out 2 months before I did. I haven't seen her since she quit school. Its been 8 years. She looks the same. I hope to stay in touch with her. It seems we have quite a lot in common. It got to the point that it was comical, how similar we are. Its nice to have a friend with a kid around Zach's age. I can now do mom things with someone instead of doing it alone. She came over to my house after they Y. We were going to go out to eat, but the kids were playing, so we decided to stay in and order pizza. She invited me to her house for a kid friendly Halloween party on Saturday and I'm going to really try to go. I don't know what hubby thought of her, but I don't really care. I don't really like 90% of his friends. Her little boy is a bit rough with Zach, but I'm hoping after a little more time together, it'll get better. Its just so nice to have someone I can talk mom stuff to that already knows me.
Zach was sleepless last night. He was up from midnight until 2:00. Then up from 3:00-4:30 and I woke him up at 6:45 to get ready to leave. I thought real hard on calling off so he could sleep. I probably should have. He seemed ok this morning. Quiet. But as soon as we got to day care, he livened up a bit. I'm sure he'll be fine.
Tuesday, we went out with the softball team to get some pizza and Lilly got a trophy. So far we have 2 trophy's, a metal and....something for soccer...I don't remember. I think they just gave her a piece of paper.
I hope the storm isn't going to be as bad as they are saying its going to be and I hope everyone that is going to get hit hard is prepared and stays safe. I'm just getting the tail end of the hurricane, I'm not in its direct path. I'll keep ya updated though.

Sllleeeeeeeppp

don't know what's going on with Zach lately. He was sleeping through the night or at the very least, only getting up once and it was easy to put him back down. These past 2 weeks have been hard. Its like he's a newborn again. He's not sleeping at night at all. I was up all night again last night. I haven't slept more than 4 hours a night in 2 weeks and then I'm back up before the sun, whether its the weekend and he's up at 6:30 or I have to get ready for work and am up at 5:45. I need sleep. I can't function right, I'm not thinking straight. I don't have any energy to do anything. I've gained weight because I have no energy. I feel like a zombie. I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried letting him stay up later in hopes that he'd be more tired and sleep. I've let him have long naps during the day in hopes that he just needs extra sleep. I've tried turning a radio on in his room. I've tried giving him milk before bed. I've tried not giving him milk before bed. I've tried letting him cry himself back to sleep, but he just makes himself sick. I've tried a bath right before bed. I've tried letting him fall asleep in my bed and then carrying him to his bed. I've even tried sleeping in his floor by his bed. He wakes up screaming like he's having a nightmare and it takes me about 3 hours to get him back down, but after that, he's up every half hour. I'd take a day off to catch up on my sleep, but I'm almost out of paid days I can take off. Any advice, anyone? If I haven't tried it yet, I'm open to just about anything. On top of it all, I'm starting to get sick. Its my seasonal sickness, I think. I always get sick when the seasons change. My head is getting stuffy, my nose is running, I'm sneezing my head off and I'm sick to my stomach.
Lilly's school is having a book fair today. I forgot to leave her money at the Y for her. She's at her father's house, I get her back today.. and I forgot her money. I can't believe I did that. I was first going to give her $10 and then we'd go back at night time for family buying time, but she has a ball game and we can't make it, so I was planning on giving her $20.... and I forgot. I just texted hubby's mom to ask if she could help me out and she said she would. I can't believe I did that.
Me and hubby tried to have a date night Saturday. We dropped Zach off to his parents and went to go try to see a movie and have dinner. All the movies that looked a bit interesting all started around 9:30, it was 7:30 when we got there and just missed a few of them. We weren't going to be out that late so we just went to dinner. We had just finished and his pager goes off while we're waiting for the check. So... he finds our waitress and tells her we have to go now and she hurries. I drop him off at the fire station and go my ex neighbor's house to hang out a while. She just had surgery on her leg, it didn't look bad at all. We went out for frozen yogurt and ate it outside in the cold. Turns out the fire call was a false alarm, so I dropped her off and picked hubby up and went to get Zach. Its about 9:30 now. We're standing there at his parent's house getting ready to go and I look over at the calendar.... it was hubby's dad's birthday! We both forgot. I sent hubby a text to tell him and he slyly mentioned it like it was no big deal. We went out to eat and have cake yesterday for his birthday.
Lilly's last ball game is today. Her team has done very well. They've only lost one and tied one. After this, its straight into soccer on Saturday. Saturday is going to be a big day.
Ok... I need to find me some coffee or Mountain Dew or something.......

Crazy

I spent the better half of my night trying to figure out what happened to the post I put up on my smile blog... apparently... I put it on my personal blog. So those of you that visit both sites, the stick frown is going to be used again on my smile blog very soon. I can't believe I did that.
Hubby was in a weird mood yesterday. I couldn't get him to tell me what was bothering him. He maybe said 2 sentences to me the entire day. He didn't eat dinner. I am kind of worried.
Zach has reached his terrible two's. Every morning is a battle now to get him ready. He fights and screams. Every day when we get home he just wants to cry and scream. Nothing you do can calm him down. You can't hold him, but he doesn't want to be put down. He doesn't want his cup, but he won't put it down. He doesn't want you near him, but screams when you back away. This goes on for about an hour every day now when we get home. Its like a switch turns on the second we pull into the driveway and he starts screaming in the car before I can even get in the garage. I've tried food, in case he was hungry. I've tried milk, juice, water, lemon aid, in case he was thirsty. I've tried changing his diaper, in case it was bothering him. I've tried even giving that kid a cookie and he just screams. I've tried his favorite cartoon, but that doesn't work either. I've tried tickling him, but it just makes me more mad. I don't get it. I've even tried letting him just cry it out, but if I'm not trying to calm him down he gets worse.
Lilly goes to her father's today. We decided this morning that I'm going to go buy her a cape so she can be a magician at the YMCA's fall festival. She already has the hat and a wand. I hope I can find one.
The parking garage to the mall collapsed a little bit today and its all over the news now. That's all they are talking about. It was just a small portion of it, no one was hurt and the area was roped off for construction anyway, so there were no cars around.
Did you know that a couple of places already have their Black Friday ads out? That's crazy. I'm very excited and have been planning for about a month so far and here they are just helping me out by putting out their ads super early. I love it! I keep trying to save money, but since my hours have been cut at work, its nearly impossible.
Yep... that's about it so far today. Sorry about the surprise frownie face. That was a mistake and was supposed to go on my other blog. Crazy.

Stick Frown

Ok, I know it's been a while but hopefully I'm back for good now. Instead of everyday postings though, I'm going to go for 3 times a week-Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
I almost stepped on this frown a few months back. I had just met my BFF for lunch and I was walking her back to her car and found that we were being frowned at.
The parent teacher conference yesterday went great. The teacher said that she has no problems out of Lilly and her grades are fantastic. We talked for about a good 25 minutes. She told me about Lilly falling in the mud and how so dramatic she was that is was almost comical. She said that she wished Lilly would participate in class discussions more. Lilly stays quiet, but she always knows the answer when asked. I told the teacher to keep her away from Caitlyn in the seating chart because then she won't stop talking. We talked about Lilly going to her father's house and how that's about the time that she says she doesn't feel well. We talked about softball. I like this teacher a lot.
The game last night went great. Lilly was hitting the ball in the outfield every time. She never got out. When on the field, she ran after that ball and caught it. She was an all star last night. The coach even put her on short stop and she kicked butt there too. I was very proud. Zach had some little boys from the other team's family to play with, so he was pretty occupied during the game. He fell asleep on the way home. It got cold out there. I had Lilly put on her coat and was worried about it getting in the way, but she still did awesome.
That's about all I got. Hopefully by the beginning of next month, I'll have more time to write more.... if I'm still with this job that is. They are moving my department from the 3rd floor to the first floor and some things that I do is going to be passed on to someone else.
I'm going to the mall today in search for Zach a winter coat before it gets too cold and we are stuck without one. We tried to get one over the weekend at Walmart by our house, but they didn't have his size. Hubby then checked the Walmart close to his work and they didn't have it either. I told him that they may not carry 2T since its not that different that 24 months. 24 month coat was a bit too small and 3T was way too big, so I'm going to the mall to look around during my lunch hour.
Here's a million pictures of the kids....

I'm back again

Quite a lot has happened in the past month. Lilly's ball team was undefeated until this past Saturday when they lost by 2 runs. They were tied and Lilly was making the winning run, but she made it there the exact same time the girl on first base got out, so they didn't count Lilly's run and had to go another inning. Zach's new favorite word is "why." Even though he doesn't know quite what it means yet, he says it at just the right times and giggles. I've been reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series and I love it. It did take me a while to get into the first book, but after that, I can't put it down. I'm almost done with the second book. I haven't lost too much weight. I'm down 9 pounds from when I first started and am considering seeking the help of a doctor. My brother, Seth has his first job. He works midnight shift at a gas station. Tonight is his first night. Over the weekend, Mom kicked Donavan out of her house and sent him to his fathers. I don't agree with what mom did or why and I've been helping Donavan feel better and keep him on the right track. Mom knows he's in a dark place, but right now she doesn't care. So, my weekend has been quite stressful to say the least. I called her to ask her questions and to tell her that I think what she is doing is wrong. My cousin is supposed to be getting induced today to have her third baby boy. I'm undecided if I'll go see her. Lilly's indoor soccer begins on the 27th. The YMCA is having their Fall Festival that day, so my day is gonna be packed.
Still haven't unpacked much. I did finally get my bookshelf up, so that kinda makes me happy. I've also been selling some stuff on the Facebook yardsale. So far, I've sold a purse for $30, Zach's old walker for $30 and a potty seat for $5. I thought I had a table and chairs sold for $150, but she said she won't be able to get it for another couple weeks. Still might have it sold if she still wants it.
I'm still so tired, but Zach is sleeping better. I still wake up several times at night. I think there might be something else wrong. I might have...what is it called... sleep apnea? Where your heart does something funky and it causes you to wake several times at night and your not getting enough oxygen or something. That might be whats wrong.. I need to get checked for that.
Work still sucks and I'm still searching.
Um... not sure what else. I haven't had any coffee or any kind of caffeine today, so I'm a little slow.
I promise to keep up with this blog now. Things have just been really crazy.. but after all the crazy, I need this blog as a place to come vent and stuff...so I'll be here.
Pics of kids possibly tomorrow. And I have some really cute ones too!!
