Have you bought your book yet?

Finally got to watch the Today Show with Neil on it. I had to watch it online this morning cuz I didn't have any time yesterday to sit and watch any tv.
Lilly was suppose to have a game, but it rained. No one ever called me to cancel, but I wasn't going to let my 6 year old play in the rain and the cold. I hope they didn't go ahead and have the game. I'd feel bad for all the little kids who went.
Let's see how my 'diet' went yesterday.... for lunch I had a sandwich~strike one. When I got home I had a piece of candy~ strike two. For dinner I made enchiladas, which I put on a plate and ate with a fork. Funny how I came about to make dinner. I didn't have any clean pots and nothing was thawed. I didn't even have time to stand there and wash dishes last night. I just don't know where the time goes these days. I even missed out on giving Zach a bath last night. Before I knew it he was sleeping. I guess missing one day won't hurt anything. I just really like that clean baby smell. So, I was searching the freezer for what would thaw the quickest that wouldn't require any pots. I thought about jambalaya, but I didn't have all the right stuff and we had rice the night before anyway. I thought about tacos, but we didn't have any lettuce or tomatoes. I looked anyway to see if we had any taco seasoning and I found enchilada seasoning. Hmm.... I didn't have any ground burger, so I used ground deer even though we had deer the night before. I used 2 different sized shells, quickly washed out one pot for the sauce. Thankfully I did have some tomato sauce. That's what Lilly eats on her spaghetti, so I always try to keep it in stock. It took me quite a while to make them, but I managed and it turned out really good. (dinner being better than you expected...AWESOME) I was surprised. I really need to wash dishes tonight, I have let it go for 3 days now. I just don't understand where all the time goes........
Zach has this new cry. Its worse than his 'I'm in pain' cry. He screams and then in the middle of the scream, he screams even louder. Imagine how you would scream...now imagine it 10 times louder... that's Zach. He's only done this twice, so I'm not sure what's wrong. He'll do it for about 15 minutes and then he'll just stop. I've checked everything. I check his diaper, I give him Mylicon drops, I make sure the tape on his diaper isn't poking him, I check all his limbs to make sure they aren't bent the wrong way, I look in his mouth, I feel him to see if he's hot, he just ate so he's not hungry, he won't take a paci. We try rocking him, singing to him, pacing, toys, everything.... and he just screams. Then, out of the blue, he's done. I have no idea.
I'm still trying to figure out what kind of job I would like to have. I can't think of anything. I don't really want an office job. I don't know. Anyone have any suggestions? I open to suggestions. I don't want to work with food, I need a job that pays at least what I make now...so no minimum wage jobs or the mall or anything like that. I do like working with the public. I like working with my hands. I like moving around and being on my feet. It has to be a first shift job also. I can't go working evenings or midnights with the kids. I do miss my job at the Toyota plant. That job was fun, but it took time away from my family and my family is more important. Anyone have anything? I don't have a degree in anything. I will, one day, return to school and get something. I was going to college to become a high school Science teacher....kinda sad I missed out on that, but I'm happy for my reasons that I did. I was thinking about maybe going back and getting some kind of art degree.... or try to pursue my love of science. Anywho.........

If you haven't seen Neil Pasricha on the Today show yet, head over to their site and check it out. He's so smiley through the whole thing and its way better than the first time I saw him on tv. I forget which show it was but they wouldn't let him get a word in. What are you waiting for? Go. And if you haven't bought the Book of Even More Awesome, I highly suggest that you do. It is very awesome.

Back to work

Wow....it feels weird to be back at work.
My sinuses and allergies are both acting up and I feel miserable. I didn't sleep at all last night.....really.... none. My first day back to work on zero sleep. I'm hoping my boss will have a little pity and let me leave. My nose is stuffy and runny, my eyes itch and are watery, I'm sneezing and coughing like crazy and every time I do one of these my stomach cramps up, my throat is sore, my head wants to explode, I'm dizzy, I feel sick to my stomach, I'm achy everywhere and I am just so tired. And I can't take anything. I was crying at about 3 am this morning cuz I was just so tired and I couldn't go to sleep.

Vacation was ok. Didn't do half the things I wanted to. Took Lilly and hubby's nephew to a water park on Wednesday after he spent the night with us. It was Lilly's first sleep over. They had fun with both the sleep over and the water park. We ended up getting rained out and had to leave the park, though.

Didn't get to sleep in at all over my vacation, but oh...hubby sure did. So...yeah....that kinda made me mad.

Went to go see mom and her land that she bought on Saturday. Its ok, I guess. I'm worried about her getting flooded and about getting found by an ambulance if necessary.

I had a dream that I went to a book signing of the Book of Awesome and I saw Neil Pasricha there. I was the first one in line and I was watching him write down some ideas for the blog and one entry was the perfect muffin.

We should know something by the end of this week if we can get the loan for a house or not. We went in and got our credit scores back and I had some outstanding bills....so I paid them...and I'm broke. Of course the lady said that if hubby would get a job, we would have no problem getting the loan. His credit score is really good and he has no outstanding bills.

Well....that's all I feel like writing right now...my head wants to explode.

The pain has basically gone away except for the occasional mind numbing, can't move, I wanna throw up pain. But at least its down to once a day or less. That's a major plus. I'm planning on making an appointment with the clinic the week after my vacation. I guess I waited so long because I was hoping some insurance would fall into my lap or something. Yeah.......ok.

So I saw where Neil Pasricha is going to be in DC on July 6. I want to go sooooooo bad. That would be a great time for me to go visit my bff. She lives close to DC....like what...an hour or so?? The only downside is that its on a Tuesday. I can't go unless its on a weekend. I mean...I'm taking a week off next week. I can't ask for a few more days off that early. I can't just take one or two days off, especially if I'm visiting my bff. We gotta do stuff, go places and such. Hubby would want to come to..... I have my fingers crossed that he'll have a job by then.........yeah......ok. So anyways, if Neil would just go a couple hundred miles to the west after DC, I would be able to go....and I want to soooooo bad. I already have an autographed book by him, but it would still be super awesome to go.

Finally talked hubby into going out looking at houses. Its a step forward...even if we don't find one we like.... I have like 10 printed out that we are going to go see the location of before we see the inside. We go on the neighborhood, the yard, how close the neighbors are, what the outside looks like, if its on a big hill or not........ if it meets our likes, then we will move on and take a look inside. I don't know if the banks will give us a loan because he's unemployed, but its worth a try.

2 more days and my vacation starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy hump day

Quitting smoking is a bit easier than I thought it was going to be. The first day was the hardest. I was angry all day, I threw things, I cried, I yelled, I sulked in my own little silence...but everything seems to be ok now. I woke up yesterday angry, but that slowly went away as the day progressed. Is it weird to say that it kind of hurts to take deep breaths? Like my lungs aren't used to fresh air and they don't like it or something. I have smoked since I was 12. I don't really think I can count from that far back. I didn't inhale at 12...I don't think I started inhaling until I was 14 and in high school. I smoked throughout high school and was only caught by my mom once or twice. I smoked throughout my first pregnancy...I was young and stupid. If "they" say that smoking causes low birth weight, I would hate to see what Lilly would have been. She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz. and had a huge head. I swear. I remember my first walk to the nursery...I looked into the window and pointed and said, "That's my baby. You see that head? Yeah, that's her." To compare... all the other babies in there..lets compare their heads to baseballs....Lilly's head was a basketball.... or apples and watermelons....

Anyway, as I was saying, as time goes on not smoking becomes easier. I know I am not only doing this for me and the people around me, I am doing this for the baby. My desire to quit came about a year ago when I got a health screening. Now, heart disease runs in my family, but I never really gave much thought to it affecting me, until I saw my results. My mom, both grandpa's, my grandma on my dad's side...heart disease is everywhere and I want to do everything I can to make sure I don't go through what they did. They have been my warning. I'm quitting smoking and after the baby, I'm going to lose more weight. I was on the track to losing weight.....but that came to a screeching halt.

Speaking of...... my grandpa is in the hospital. My mom's dad. He wasn't feeling well and couldn't breathe, so they took him to the ER. They found fluid around his heart and said if they don't get the fluid out, he will have another heart attack. Mom called me yesterday and told me that they got ten pounds of fluid out!! But they still wanted to get in there and get the rest of it. Over ten pounds of fluid!! How does that even happen??!! Mom called me late last night and told me that he is doing fine, but she doesn't know anything else yet. If he's still there by Friday, I'm going to take him some flowers or a McDonalds chicken sandwich... that's his favorite.

Neil Pasricha ( I hope I spelled that right) is going to be on the Early Show tomorrow. I have my DVR set to record it. I hope I get to watch it when I get home tomorrow. I haven't seen him on anything yet. I have read a lot about him though. This is exciting!

Work gave us new phones last night. I came in this morning to find it staring at me. My old phone is still here and is hooked up. The new one hooks up to my computer and its smaller. It appears to be working, but I can't set up my voicemail on it yet cuz it says my extension doesn't exist. Maybe they aren't done converting or whatever they are doing. I don't like this new phone. It only has one ring, and its kind of annoying, but I guess that might be the point. Give you a ring you can't stand so you have to answer it. It has a few new buttons too. Hmm...we'll see how this goes. Like it or not, I'm stuck with it.

I just went over to the kitchen to make coffee and the entire kitchen is out of order. There's a big sign on the door and the door is shut. It says that the drains are backed up. Granted, I'm drinking decaf coffee now, but I still want my coffee. I can't start a work day without coffee. I can't get any from this weird coffee machine in the lunch room cuz all it really gives ya is hot water, at least that's what I taste. I might just have to take a little walk to Starbucks here in a minute, or that cute little coffee shop a block down. I've never been there, but I'm gonna need my coffee. I can still think its regular even though its decaf. Coffee helps me not be so hungry in the mornings. This is not a good start to my morning.
