Spending Time With Family

Wow...talk about a busy weekend. Zach has 4 teeth now. The top two came through.
Friday, we went shopping for some food to make and take to the family reunion. We ended up getting stuff so I can make a white chocolate cheesecake.
Saturday, we got up early, got everyone ready, picked up hubby's dad and took off. Lilly had the portable DVD player and was watching movies. Zach fell asleep for a little bit and I read the material I need to read for my training at work. Almost 3 hours later, we get there. Zach woke up when we were about 45 minutes away and Lilly's movie ended about 20 minutes away. Both were getting kind of fussy.
We got there way too early. They were still setting up tables. There was 2 hours left before it was time to eat and Lilly was yelling that she was starving. She didn't eat her breakfast like I told her to. I did end up sneaking her a strawberry. She was happy with that. Hubby, Lilly, me, Zach and one other little boy went outside and played frisbee for a bit.
Then, it was time to eat. The food was wonderful. There was fruit, pasta salad, sweet potato casserole, spaghetti, rolls, egg salad, grape salad, macaroni salad, broccoli salad, ham, pork, chips, green beans, potato casserole. Zach ate a big bowl of the sweet potato casserole. Then for dessert there was my cheesecake, 3 different kinds of cupcakes, a chocolate cake, apple pie, apple crumble pie, lemon cake, lemon bread, and I'm sure there was more, but I can't remember. I got Lilly a vanilla cupcake with chocolate icing on top. She took 10 minutes to lick the icing off then she took a big bite out of the cupcake and said, "EW!" and showed me that it had chocolate icing on the inside of it too. It was made that way. She thought it was gross. I told her that its the same icing that was all over her face, but she wouldn't eat it. It was actually a good day. Both kids had fun and hubby got to catch up with family. Then we had to drive the almost 3 hours back home. Both kids fell asleep, but Zach woke up about 45 minutes away from home and cried the last 15. Lilly slept through his screaming.

(there is something wrong with my camera on my phone. It's making everything look blurry and pixalated. I haven't changed any of the settings, so I have no idea what is wrong with it)
Sunday we got to go to my moms house. It was fun there too. All my little brothers were there and we laughed and played around. Hubby was even having a good time. We all played Uno and it was one of the best games of Uno I've ever played. It was so much fun. Zach and Lilly played around with mom's dog until she tried to bite Zach. Both kids had fun there too. They played and wore themselves out. Zach ended up taking an hour nap there. Hubby went and woke him up so he could visit with my step dad when he got home. We had to take Tony back to my dad's house when we left which isn't too far out of our way. Both kids fell asleep and slept until we got home.
The title is my awesome thing of the day. **spending time with family**
There was ceremonies galore yesterday for police, fire fighters and soldiers. Hubby didn't want to go, but a lot of people from the fire station went. Hubby's dad went to one. Everywhere was packed.
Hopefully tomorrow we are going to look at another house. We had looked at the outside of it and hubby really liked it. I'm not so sure since its up on a big hill. We haven't seen the inside yet because when I called about it, it was way out of price range. Well.... Friday it dropped almost $30,000 and its almost where we need it to be. We are going to make an appointment to look at it and if we like it we can cross our fingers that they'll take less than what they have it listed for.

All About the Kids

Zach is growing up so fast. He weighs over 20 pounds now! He has 2 teeth with 2 more showing-getting ready to come in. He likes to bounce and chase balloons. He loves to watch bubbles and to cuddle. He's still always smiling and always laughing. He gets really goofy when he's tired and giggles nonstop, until he's reached the over tired point, then he's grumpy. He can stand for short periods of time without holding onto anything. Instead of sitting down while standing, most of the time he will fall backwards. I haven't found a food or drink that he doesn't like yet. He's adventurous, extremely happy, a flirt and oh, so much fun. Zach is also very much a mama's boy.
Lilly...oh, how the time has flown by. She'll be 7 in 6 1/2 months. She has her first loose tooth. She just noticed it yesterday and she can't stop wiggling it, which is gross to me. Teeth are just gross, unless they are growing in, then I can deal with it. She's in the first grade and very smart. She's very social, but kind of shy...and very emotional, just like me. She's very loving and cares deeply for her family, especially Zach. Those two are like 2 peas in a pod. Lilly loves to be outside and run. Her favorite game is hide and seek, but if you find her too soon, she gets upset. She looks like she's going to be taller than me, too. She's growing like a weed and eating all the time. She doesn't like to talk on the phone, unless its to me. She doesn't really like shopping either. Lilly does like to help me cook and bake. Her favorite tv shows are iCarly and Spongebob and her favorite movie is Hotel for Dogs. She loves movies about dogs.
So, that's the rundown on my kids. Just a little info I thought I'd share.
Nothing really interesting happened yesterday, well... other than the visit from the in-laws. The bought us a huge high chair because I don't have one, ok, I do, but its in storage and I can't find it. My grandma has on in her storage building and said she'd get it for me, but hasn't yet. Hubby's mom took that the wrong way and thought my grandma just wouldn't let me have it at all. (its the kind that is just basically a booster seat with a tray that you can strap into chairs. Just like the one in one of the pictures in yesterday's post. That one is at the in-laws house) I like these. They are small and fold up when not in use and I can put it under the table, or anywhere. The one she bought us is the kind that stands alone. Where am I going to put it? Hubby told her in our driveway several times that we didn't have room for it, but she made him carry it upstairs anyway. And we don't have room for it. We finally got her to take it back to her house. It was just crazy. It was like she didn't understand that we don't have the room. Seriously, no room at all.
I can't wait to be able to get out of that cramped apartment!

Bubble Time!

Tomorrow is the first day of school!! And I have the day off!!! I can't wait until tomorrow. I'm picking Lilly up at the Y when I drop Zach off (took forever to get her father to finally agree to that), taking her home for breakfast, then taking her to school. The rest of the day is mine. I think I'm going to end up going grocery shopping again, but then I'm napping, then making a batch or two of cookies, then I'm napping, then I'm making cookies, then I'm napping...you get the picture. At 3 though, I have to be back at the school to pick her up. I don't know what to do from there. I don't know if I'm going to take her home or just go ahead and take her to the Y so her father can pick her up. We still have to figure that one out.
I had the kids outside playing yesterday and I got some really great pics of them together. Lilly was **blowing bubbles** for Zach. He was so excited.

Lilly went to a wave pool yesterday......... and got sunburnt. She's burnt on the tops of her hands and the back of her legs. I thought those were some really odd places. I asked her if she was laying on her stomach at one point and she said she wasn't. I feel bad for her. I am glad that summer is just about over and we don't have to freak out about the sun getting her as much.
No update tomorrow for either one of my blogs. I shall return Monday..... maybe.
And if for any reason you want to talk about something, give me some ideas, tell me about a typo, or even comment or whatever and you don't want to make it public on here, you can now email me for this blog. bekahbug04@gmail.com

Good Morning!

Oh, what a busy weekend it was.
I got to hang out with Chris and Tony Saturday. I took Tony to take his test for his learners. He passed, but he didn't have 2 proofs of residency, only one. So, he'll have to go back within 30 days to take his proof without having to take the test again. After that we went to the mall and they bought belts and an XBox game and we had some Taco Bell. It was nice. Everything felt normal to me. Everyone was having fun, joking around, and just hanging out. I'm glad I got to spend those few hours with them.
Hubby had Zach for the morning while I was out, and he ended up at his mom's house. I got there in the afternoon. It started storming there, after I had just drove through it all after dropping my brothers off. Then, there was a fire call. 6 car pile up with mass casualties is what came over the radio. Hubby took off. Turns out only one person was hurt and everyone else was fine.
Sunday...oh, Sunday. Ok. Saturday night around 11, there was a structure fire call. The siren went off at the fire station and it wasn't too far away. It was right beside the station, I should have been able to see it from the front porch, but I couldn't see anything. It came over the radio that flames were visible. I watched the fire truck drive over there and then I heard someone on the radio say that it was just a grill shooting flames. Then... around 2 in the morning, there was another structure fire call and the siren went off. Hubby got up and left.... and he didn't get to come home for almost 12 hours. I went out and met him at a fire hydrant where they were filling up the truck to take him a dry pair of sock and some shoes. I felt so bad for all those guys out in the heat. I think hubby said the fire was at an empty house.
Today, Lilly is getting another baby brother. Her father's girlfriend is scheduled to go in this morning and get induced. They are naming him Gage. Lilly is staying with her father all week so she can get some time with the baby. She will still go to the Y, except for today. She's going bowling tomorrow.
I tried feeding Zach a very mushed up egg, but he wasn't having any of it. He's not ready yet. I did give him a bit of mashed potatoes and he made some funny faces. He's doing better on sitting up. He's getting his wobbly body under control. He can even go from the crawling position to the sitting position now. We still don't have any teeth yet.
There was a lot of storms this weekend also. Friday, it was bad. Horrible rain and strong winds, lots of lightning and thunder most of the night. Saturday, it was mostly hard rain, all day. Sunday, we just had a quick burst of rain and a bit of wind.

Red Face and Speedy Gonzalez

Excited about getting my other blog up and running. Its going to be a bit challenging though. I'm going to try to update it every weekday, unless its a holiday or something like that. Probably just about as much as I update this one.
So, hubby called me yesterday and asked if I wanted another car. Of course I do, but we can't afford payments on one, or even to buy one off someone. Well... hubby's mom is going to get a brand spanking new car and I'm getting her Blazer. Right now the motor needs replaced, but hubby's dad is going to get that done for us. I'm excited, but I'm not. I love my car. Its my mom car. I do need something bigger with the carseat and Lilly's booster seat, and my trunk only has room for a stroller. My car is a 2001 and the Blazer is a 1999. I'm not to keen on getting an older car. I do need one, though... and its free, so I'm not going to complain............much. **Getting another car, better than the one you have, or getting a car when you don't own one.... awesome!**
Leaving work around 12:30 or so to go to Walmart to get stuff to make lasagna, going home to pack a diaper bag, going to the Y to pick Zach up then heading to my Dad's house where Chris and Tony will be waiting. I hope Zach can keep himself occupied enough for me to cook for them.
Lilly's face is so sunburnt. The teacher told me yesterday that they coated the sunscreen on her 3 times and she even used her son's sunscreen on her...and she still got burnt. The teacher has spf 75 that is waterproof and rubproof, I guess meaning that it won't rub off. I pack for her spf 15 that has bug repellant in it and waterproof spf 100. I'm going to shop around today to see what I can find.

Zach's been moving like crazy. I can't put him down anymore to just play so I can get things done. He moves so fast and of course, he goes for things that he can't have. Our apartment is just too small for him to be mobile like this. I'm excited that he discovered that he can move and is doing it well, but at the same time I wish he wouldn't do it. I don't want him to get hurt, or stuck, or anything like that. We just need to move.

Lots of fun....and a dent

Took the kids to the playground on Saturday. Me and Lilly played a bit of softball and then some of her friends showed up, so she went to play with them while I kept Zach occupied. We were there about 2 hours and her friends left. Then, she got bored, so we left. Rented Tangled and bought pizza from the grocery store. Zach napped at home while me and Lilly had dinner and watched the movie. Then, me and her played the Wii while Zach watched.
Sunday, I was on my way to my grandma's to meet my bff to take the kids to the museum. I stopped at a grocery store that my second ex step dad works. We visited with him for a bit while he was on break and I bought me and Lilly a drink. Then......... I go to leave the store, I'm backing out, and BAM!!!! Me and some guy run into each other. My bumper was caved in, my tail light is broken and all the plastic is gone, and my bumper was knocked around and now it won't even up. (I didn't word that right) His car was just dented cuz I hit him under his tail light, his bumper sit higher than mine did. I kept trying to remember to get a picture of it, but I was so shook up after it happened that I didn't and I kept forgetting after that. I would only remember while I was driving. Thankfully, the guy was super nice. I was in a bad part of town and at first I was afraid to even get out of the car. I called the store I was at and told them to tell my step dad to come outside. Lilly was shook up real bad, Zach didn't even seem to notice. It took her about an hour to calm down. Cops weren't called. They wouldn't have come anyway. It was a private lot and they only come if someone is causing a disturbance... or they rob the place.
This wreck was the least serious of all my wrecks, even though its been about 6 years since I had one. I tried to call hubby at the camp he was at for the bachelor party, but no one answered. I went ahead and went to grandma's. Lilly wouldn't talk to anyone. She just kept running off and hiding. Finally I got her back to normal. I tried calling the camp again, and still no one answered. I finally called hubby's cell and told him to call me when he gets my message.
So, off we go to the museum. It was great! It was way better than it was about 10 years ago when I went last. Then everything was just sort of sitting out and you had a path to walk and stuff like that. Now... every room has is decorated to go with the time period and its in 'themes.' There are even tracks on the floor the whole way. It started out as just feet prints, went to horse prints, then horse and buggy, eventually train tracks, then car tracks, then a road. It was pretty cool. There were houses you could go into, and if it wasn't inside a glass case, you could touch it. We were opening drawers on old desks, opening trunks, playing with a really old phone operating system, and touching a cannon. I got a picture of Zach with the cannon, it was really dark in the room and the noise of the cannon firing kept scaring Lilly. You can't really see much in the picture.

I got a picture of Lilly in the 50's diner room.
Oh, and at the beginning, the guy at the front desk gave Lilly a scavenger hunt to do. There were about 24 pictures of things to look for and find to mark off. She found about half. She was so excited about the hunt, she didn't stay in a room long enough to really have a good look at everything. I told her we'll go back soon and take hubby with us and take our time.
Toward the end they just had a bunch of art up-paintings, sculptures, stuff like that. I took a picture of a giant paci. I have no idea what its made out of.
The museum is mostly about the history of West Virginia and it took us 2 hours to go through it... even in the rush Lilly was in. Lilly had a great time until it was over and she realized she didn't find all the things. Then, she got in one of her moods.
Hubby called me after I had dropped off my bff and was hanging out at grandma's. He told me that I should have told him what happened in the message. He was thinking it was something more serious. I told him that I figured he would be freaking out more if I told him I was in a fender bender with the kids in the car. When I got home, he popped my bumper back out. It doesn't look that bad now.
So, I had a fun filled and tiring weekend. **Spent some excellent quality time with the kids** and was exhausted. I'm super glad I had my bff with me to go through the museum. Zach got tired of sitting in the stroller and wanted to be carried and I couldn't carry him and maneuver the stroller through the tight areas.
Tons of fun...I can't wait to go back. I can mark off "take kids to a museum" off my list of things I wanted to do before I was 30!!

Bad Day

Bad morning. From 2:00 on, Zach got up every half an hour. Then, this morning, I got the kids ready and we all got in the car to leave. I rolled my back window down so I could see to back up since it was fogged up... and it wouldn't roll back up. After fidgeting with it forever, I sent hubby a text and he called me. He told me to pull the window up and to find something to wedge in between the window. I found an old birthday card and I folded it in half and broke a nail wedging the damn thing in there. It was up, but I didn't know how well it was going to work. I made it to day care, dropped Zach off and took off to take Lilly to grandma's. 2 minutes after leaving day care, the window dropped and the card fell inside my door. I pulled over, found another card and something else that I have no idea what it was. I folded the card twice and the other thing twice and it took me 10 minutes to wedge those in there. So far that's working. My window is still up. Dropped Lilly off at grandma's and hopped on the interstate............ and missed my exit. I drive to the nearest exit, get off, turn around....... and drove right past the road to take me back on the interstate. So, I decided I was going to go across the bridge 5 miles away that will put me on the boulevard. After I made the turn to go there, I remembered there was a closer bridge that would have put me just a couple blocks away from work, but it was too late now. So, I'm here...finally.
Enjoy pics of the kids while I finish having my bad day.

Yeah...Zach can hold his bottle now, but only when he wants to.

Time

I wish there was more time in the day. I can't seem to get things done nowadays. I can't even remember what we did on Friday. Saturday we went to a cookout and did **fireworks**. Lilly spent most of the day in the pool. Then, we did the fireworks. Zach did great and Lilly didn't want her earplugs this year. Sunday, we all went to see my family. Mom had moved back into my old apartment right across the hall from my second ex step dad. So, we visited with her and then I had hubby drive me and the kids up the hill to visit grandma until it was time for my step dad to get home from work and we headed back. Yesterday we went to another cookout and Lilly spent the day in the pool again.
Here's some pictures of the kids from Saturday. I don't understand why Zach didn't like the pool. He loves water and it was warm.

Things just seem so rushed these days. I can't get anything done and I never sleep anymore. Me and hubby are both up to working 10 hour days. Then, I get home and its just chaos. I gotta cook and clean and feed the baby and find time to play with both kids and get everyone bathed and put to bed on time. Sometimes I wish there was 2 of me. One to do all the work and one to have all the fun.
I'm keeping this one super short...I just don't have the time today.

Feelin' the love

My **kids** are my world. My kids are my everything. My kids are my life. Without them, its hard to tell where I would be in life right now. If I hadn't gotten pregnant with Lilly when I did, I wouldn't have had to get that job at the gas station and I probably wouldn't have met hubby, since he was a frequent customer there. If it wasn't for my kids, my life wouldn't have as much smiles or laughter. If I hadn't gotten pregnant with Zach when I did, I probably would have jumped at any opportunity to get another job, and lost it by now. If it wasn't for my kids, I wouldn't be complete.
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't hug and kiss both of them (unless Lilly's with her father, its kind of hard to do then). There isn't a moment in any given day that I don't think of them. I frequently scroll through past photos I've taken and I'm always taking new ones. I talk about them constantly and they are even in my dreams. I knew throughout my younger years that I wanted to be a mother and that I was going to be great at it, but I didn't realize that I would have such wonderful kids and love them this much.
I love their songs, their stories, their smiles, their laughs, their hugs, their kisses, even when they are whiney. Between my kids and my husband, I am one of the luckiest women in the world. Yes, there are times of frustration, but that's just life. I love and adore my family more than words could ever express.

I am also grateful and forever in debt to my best friend. Yes, my husband is also my best friend, but I'm talking about my bestest best girl-friend. The one who knows me better than I know myself. The one who I can talk with for hours about absolutely nothing. Lara on http://www.1000awesomethings.com/ has been enlightening me on all kinds of national days, so I decided to look up National Best Friend Day.... and it turns out I have missed it. June 8 was the day. So, I wanna talk about my bff now. We met in first grade, but didn't really become friends until 7th grade when we both had a crush on the same guy. This girl knows me inside and out. She knows my secrets, my fears, my dreams.... she knows the REAL me and still loves me. We've been through so much together and we still stand strong. So, since I didn't give an awesome thing some day this week here's my second one for this post **best friends** Without them we'd be complaining to no one about our jobs or significant others. Without them we'd be shopping alone. Who else can we call up at 3 am just to talk? Who else would drive miles to see you? (ok...your mom doesn't count here) Now, we've had our fights and didn't talk for a while. We've been angry with each other and we still get on each others nerve every now and then. I can tell when I'm bugging her cuz she'll call me grouchy or something along those lines. Unfortunately my bff is hours away and we hardly get to see each other. I haven't seen her since February, but we talk almost everyday. Three cheers for best friends!

Its soooooooooo hot

The weather has been HOT and HUMID these past couple of days- a little bit of rain here and there and a nice little storm that wasn't as bad as what everyone was saying it was going to be.
Relay is tomorrow. I think I got my grandma talked into coming for a bit and Lilly's father is going to drop by with her during kid's corner. I'm still unsure if hubby is coming. He says he is, but he's got something at the fire station to do, so I doubt he'll be there.
Summer camp has been fun for Lilly so far. She's sunburnt on her face and the tops of her feet. I have taken the Avon bug guard sunscreen that starts out blue, but turns clear once its rubbed in, but she still gets burnt. She knows the places she burns the most and she's usually really good at getting it on, but she's been slacking. I think she just gets in a hurry cuz she wants to go outside and play. I have two awesome things today.... when used properly and when actually put on **sunscreen** especially the kind with the bug guard in it since the bugs love me and Lilly both and my second awesome thing is **aloe** Yes, whenever the sunscreen is forgotten, aloe comes in handy. I had to use some last night on the tops of her feet. She just burns so easily. I burn easily on my face, right around my eyes and my nose. I use to burn on the tops of my arms and my shoulders, but this year they just tanned.
I hate these words, "Shut up" and I use to refuse to use them, but lately, it seems like its the only way I can get my point across to Lilly. I have tried every other way I can think of, but those two words are what works and I hate it. This morning she kept going on and on about stuff not being fair. "Zach gets to sleep whenever he wants. Zach gets to eat whenever he wants. Zach doesn't have to pick up his toys." On and on and on and on, and so early in the morning. I tried telling her that he is a baby, she did the exact same things when she was a baby, so it is fair. I told her that he can't take care of himself or even walk yet to pick up his toys. He is little. His stomach is smaller and he needs food more often. But she just kept on and on, finally I just told her to shut up. I felt so bad after I did it. "You help Zach get ready in the mornings, but you won't help me anymore" (sigh) I do still help her, I brush her hair and when she's having problems with her shoes, I help her out. I just don't sit there and dress her anymore. She's 6 years old and fully capable. I try telling her this, but she won't listen. I know she's just jealous and feeling left out and misses all my attention being on her, so I try not to get mad.
So I guess I'm the assistant of two people now. The big boss guy asked me if I would be willing to help him out and do stuff for him whenever he needs. I told him that it would be fine. So far, in just these two days, I am organizing a lunch for a meeting, ordering a Blackberry for the boss guy, having a computer put in the empty office........ its the kind of stuff I've been wanting to do. I like doing these little things, running stupid little errands. Is it weird that I'm more comfortable being someone's assistant like this than I am being someone's assistant where I actually do some work (input, filing and such) and have a great opportunity to move up?
Relay is tomorrow!!!! I've been making my list of things to take-drinks, sunscreen, pack the diaper bag... stuff like that. I have got to remember to charge the camera tonight. So far I have raised $355 and I'm expecting a bit more. My grandparents said they would donate.
I was playing hide and seek with Lilly last night. Give her something to do while I was trying to feed Zach, he was a little fussy... I think its teething time. Hubby got a bit frustrated with all the crying and passed Zach on to me. Anyway.... Lilly hid in the bedroom closet. She always yells "READY" when she's done. We've told her not to do that cuz then we know where she is, but she does it anyway... hubby heard where she was hiding so he casually went in the bedroom. He came back out and told me that Lilly had sat on my birthday present and broke it. I still have no idea what it is. I didn't want to go in the closet, so I just told Lilly she hid so good that we give up and she can come out now. She got upset. So......... I made her a S'more in the microwave. Not as good as a roasted marshmallow, but it cheered her up. I don't know what my gift was, but it can be taken back and replaced. I told hubby I didn't really want anything. I think I'm going to tell people to just make a donation to Relay instead of buying me things from now on. I don't need anything. I don't want anything. I'm pretty content with the things I have.
Here's a sleeping picture of Zach... you see that on his onsie? Its an octopus. HA!! Remember that Lilly wanted to name the baby Octopus if it was a boy?? Well, I've been searching for some octopus clothes and found one at Walmart and on at a yard sale.

Fishing and parties

Friday we went out to eat with hubby's parents. We went to a little family dinner. Ya know, the food might have been a little pricey, but I can't remember the last time I was full from food at a restaurant. It was good food. I let Lilly order for me and she got the Chicken Parmesan. Sooo goooood. Zach slept long enough for us to eat. Hubby and his dad got a 9 oz steak smothered in onions. It looked real good.
Saturday we went to hubby's uncles camp. Lilly has been dying to go fishing, so we went up there. He has a nice little pond there with a dock and everything. Its a bit away from the house and we usually get there on the 4-wheeler, but we took hubby's cousin's truck there. My car wouldn't have made it. Lilly caught 3 fish!! It was one of those time I wish I would have taken my camera, but we left it at home. So that's one of my awesome things of this weekend. **Catching a fish** She even caught one before hubby did. I didn't fish, I was tending to Zach. He got to see his first fish. Lilly had lots of fun and Zach was good for the most part. His allergies started to kick in real bad this weekend. He has been coughing and wheezing and yesterday his nose started running. I've been giving him medicine and using the vaporizer at night and its been helping a bit. While we were at the camp, he was fine as long as he was outside.
Sunday we went to a birthday party. It was at one of those places with the inflatables indoors. I'm so glad it was indoors. The kids were running and playing so hard they were hot as it was, I couldn't have imagined how they'd do outside. It was hot and humid this weekend. So here's my next awesome thing **Air conditioning** After years of living without it, my last years in high school and the first year I moved out on my own, and then getting air conditioning....I'd never go back to not having it. Here's a few pics I got. One of Lilly and one of the birthday girl. I couldn't get any good pics with my phone, they were moving so fast and were blurry. I did get some really great pics on hubby's sister's camera.

After the bday party, we went out to eat at Friday's with hubby's cousin, his wife and their kid. Zach was so tired, all he did was cry and fuss. I had hubby order my food for me while I was tending to Zach, and it was kinda gross. He got the Chicken Piccata Pasta for me and it tasted like vinegar. I had to keep taking Zach outside cuz that's the only place he would stop crying. We got home and I took him and Lilly for a walk and then when we got home, Zach took a bottle and crashed.
Today is Lilly's last day of school. She is so excited. The YMCA is having a water party today after school, so that's exciting too. My little girl is growing up, moving on the first grade. I can't believe it. I don't think they are going to do much today.
I'm going to try to get the kids hand and feet prints tonight while hubby's at his meeting. I might just do Lilly's and try to get Zach's this weekend in the morning. He's always more cooperative in the morning. Took Lilly to Wal mart on Saturday and we picked out 2 shirts for hubby for Father's Day. Lilly got him one that says "Greatest Dad' and I got one from Zach that says, "New Dad 2011" So Saturday before Father's Day while we have Lilly we are probably going to give him the stepping stones and then Sunday ON Father's Day me and Zach will give him the shirts while Lilly's gone. Lilly will be gone for a week. That's usually the week I take vacation since its our anniversary, but I'm not this year. Hubby can't so I won't. I was thinking about taking our anniversary off, though. Hubby's sister is wanting to take the kids to the little theme park we have nearby sometime this month, but I told her it depends on what the Y is doing that day. I'm paying that much money for Lilly to go and I don't want her to miss anything fun. I know the week hubby's sister is wanting to go is the week the Y is doing a carnival and pony rides.
I can't recall who it was on http://www.1000awesomethings.com/ but one of the commenters had a link on their name to their blog and it gave me an idea. Here's their blog I wrote hubby an email telling him how lucky I was to have him and gave him a small list of thank you's for some little things he does for me. I don't know if he's read it yet or not, but my guess is that he did. He didn't say anything about it, but he was helping me out more this weekend. It was nice to have that little bit of extra help. All of this is just helping me on my journey to lose my depression. It seems to be working, writing hubby a little note and making it a point to find at least one awesome thing a day.... I think its working. I did have a good weekend, but it caught up with me on Sunday for a bit.
Oh and I don't know if I mentioned it yet or not, but the house that was my first pick is sold now. It is still empty and that's what we were going by, but the guy that bought it lives in Delaware or something and he's still trying to sell that house and can't move in to the new house yet.
Relay is Friday!!

Maybe tomorrow will be better

Hubby's birthday didn't go as well as I had hoped. I guess he really doesn't like his birthdays, he always acts...weird. I kinda feel bad about his gift too. He was expecting a game system cuz that is what it kind of looked like, wrapped up like it was. I am planning on getting him either a PS3 or an Xbox for Christmas this year, but that's Christmas. I always try to make Christmas way bigger than birthdays. I got him a blu-ray player for his birthday. We have no where to put it right now. I got him 2 movies.... he didn't seem to care. I kept trying to figure out what to do for his dinner, but it was hard to do. He wouldn't tell me what he wanted and he went to a wake of an old church friend. I tried to make his day great, but I couldn't. I should have planned something to do this weekend. Maybe I'll try to do something for him Saturday before his niece's dance recital. Next year I'll have to do something real big cuz he'll be turning 35.
My birthday is on a Monday this year and he has his meetings at the fire station on Mondays. I don't want anything and don't expect much. It'd be nice to just hang out as a family. Rent a movie or something and get some pizza maybe. Our anniversary is also in a couple weeks. I told him not to buy anything. We'll just be together that day. Its on a Tuesday this year. Maybe send the kids somewhere and we can have a date night alone. I haven't been to the movie theater in forever, so that would be nice.
I forgot Lilly's ball picture. I have written a note to get it for tomorrow. Here's a pic of my babies I took yesterday. Note the wet pillow where Zach drooled. I got some good pictures of them on my other camera. There's one that looks like this one and another where they are looking at each other. I love it!
So, I think next time I go to the doctor I'm going to ask about postpartum depression. I believe I have it. Either that or just plain ol' regular depression. I hope I'm not bipolar. Mom is. I have just been feeling really different lately, not like myself. I don't enjoy doing anything anymore. I don't like being around people anymore. If something goes slightly wrong I blame myself and feel like I've let everyone down. I'm so tired all the time and have no energy to do anything, although that could just be lack of sleep. I can't sleep, even when Zach doesn't wake up, I do. I'm restless at night. I get up, check on the kids, walk around the house for a bit and go back to bed. I do this about 4 or 5 times a night. I just.... I just want to feel like myself again. Even if I just have someone to talk to, that would be better. This blog helps me out a bit. I get to express myself and say what's on my mind, but I don't let everything out. I need to be able to vent and talk and have someone just listen. I want to be able to talk about my problems without making someone else mad or sad or having someone change the subject on me or having someone try to make everything about them or being told, "I told you so," or anything like that. I just need someone to talk to and for them to listen without judging. I want to go to a professional...... but I can't afford it.
Found out yesterday that the house that was our first choice is indeed sold. So that's out. We'll keep looking.

Pics of the bags

Here are two of the luminary bags that I did yesterday- front and back view.

I'm a big fan of the poca dots on the bag. I do it every year. Lilly worked on hers last night. She traced her hand and painted it and painted some other decorations on it, but only on the front. We had to let it dry so she can do the back tonight. She made her hand yellow except one finger, its blue.
Lilly had a game last night. It was at a new field outside of town. There was two ball fields right next to each other. We were waiting at the lower field and was getting mad cuz the other team wasn't there so we all got ready to leave, and there they all were on the the upper field. Lilly had her game and she did great. She loves playing ball so much. You can tell by the big smile she always has on her face during a game.
She has another game tonight. Its the first time she has games two nights in a row, but this one is at the regular field. Its suppose to rain, but it was suppose to storm yesterday and all we got was a little bit of light rain.
School ends in 8 days!! I can't believe the school year is already over. I swear it was just yesterday I was getting her ready for her first day. Well.... it feels like it was just the yesterday when she was a baby. Why? Why do kids have to grow up so fast? Why does time go by faster the older you get? Lilly has done so well in school. She has learned a lot and I am so very proud of her. She made new friends, learned to read, learned how to add and subtract, and so much more.
Mr. Zach still hasn't rolled over again. Lilly keeps waiting. Last night he rolled to his side, stayed there a while like he was stuck or something and then plopped back down on his tummy. Lilly was so mad.
Hubby's birthday is almost here and I still don't have his gift. I kind of know what I'm going to get him. I want to get him a blu-ray player, but I don't know what brand. I don't know if I should get the same brand as the DVD player we have now or get the brand to match the tv or if he has a favorite brand...I have no idea. I'll probably just go for cheap. I'm hoping to have his Father's Day gift done by the first weekend of June....that way we have time to do it over if we have to for some reason.
My birthday is next month too and I think I'm just going to tell hubby to get me a set of 5 or 10 pound weights. I've been wanting some for a while now, maybe even the Shake Weight. 25... I'm going to be 25. Seriously...what happened to the time? I'm halfway to 50. Hubby's gonna be 34. Next year I want to plan something big for him since I didn't get to on his 30th. Plan something fun and childish.
I don't know if I'm going to get to do Zach's luminary bag tonight since Lilly has a game, so I'll have to post the pic of that one later, but tomorrow I should be able to put Lilly's up.

Big weekend, hot weekend

This weekend was pretty great. Got up early Saturday cuz Lilly had her parade. Oh, she was so excited. I couldn't get her to calm down. She loved the sign that she made and she was ready to go. We get to the meeting place and the coach is not prepared at all. He made some signs that just had the kids names on them, no decoration. He didn't have anything other than signs to decorate the 'float' and there's suppose to be a contest on best decorated float. One of the dads runs and gets some balloons and streamer and we decorate. Lilly's sign got a prime spot so everyone could see it.

We left her there to find a spot to watch. When she wheeled by her face was lit up. I got some great pics but they are on my other camera. After the parade all the kids lined up and they were all announced/introduced. It was suppose to be family day, too. Family day- I was thinking big inflatables, carnival games, hot dog vendors, maybe some cotton candy, something to do with water cuz it was so hot... ya know... a lot of fun stuff. There was one inflatable for all those kids and one dunk tank that was full of dirty water. Everyone was saying that last year was much better. We let Lilly do the inflatable once and we went to Dairy Queen. She had a game later that day too. We went to hubby's mom's house for a bit. She was going to watch Zach since its so hot.
Her game went ok. They only did 2 innings and my grandparents finally made it to watch. After her game we went back to hubby's mom's house. His sister was there with all her kids and Lilly played with them for about 5 hours. Running, playing, riding her bike, swinging, climbing...we put her to bed at 9:30 after her shower and she still got up at 6:30 the next morning!
Friday night, Zach rolled over for the first time. I was the only one that saw him the first time. Hubby just got up from the couch and Zach started to turn. I said, "Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad. Hey. Dad. Look. DAD!" and by that time he had rolled and Hubby just turned around and missed it by 1/2 a second. I put him back on his belly and hubby got the video camera. After about 5 minutes he rolled again. Then Lilly got mad cuz she didn't get to see him do it. He hasn't rolled since.
Sunday was just a nice relaxing day. Lilly played outside in the water. It started with just squirt guns and I took Zach out there and she squirted his feet. Then she wanted the big water gun that she needs the bucket for, so I got it. Then, she wanted to change in her bathing suit and play in the bucket.
Hubby then ran to the dollar store and got a little pool. Its not much, but its all we can do at the moment. Zach got in it for a little while. He liked it.
I traced Lilly's shadow with chalk Saturday evening. It was tall and stretched out. I did it so she could see how different shadows were at different times of the day. Sunday, we decorated it. We drew on clothes, shoes, a face, some flowers and even a purse. It was a nice artsy time for Lilly.
Zach has even found his toes. He tried to pull his sock off on Saturday, but he didn't pull hard enough.
Here's some close up tummy time picks of Zach and him with his hammer

The Day After

Saturday we went to see my grandma. We only stayed for about 45 mins, but in that short time I already had a headache. Then we went to visit mom. She wanted to go find some yard sales, so we drove around. Zach got fussy. He hates being in his car seat and I told her that, but she still wanted to go. He screamed and cried, I got aggravated. On our way back to drop mom off at her car, we stopped at a playground to let Lilly play and I fed Zach a bottle. We dropped off mom and went to see my second ex step dad. Two of my younger brothers were there. I haven't seen my youngest brother since February. My step dad held Zach for the first time. He wouldn't hold him while he was tiny, but he's a big boy now. I even weighed him on Saturday. 15.6 pounds and only 15 weeks old. So then we were getting ready to leave, as soon as I put Zach in his car seat he started screaming. I felt bad for him cuz he's been in that thing almost all day. He screamed for about 10 minutes and fell asleep. I called hubby to tell him we were on our way home. Lilly was asleep too. About 5 minutes after Zach fell asleep he started coughing and woke himself up....and he started screaming.... the rest of the way home....about 30 minutes. He didn't want his bottle, or a paci, or to play, or anything. I even pulled over and got him out of his car seat for a while and gave him gas drops, but he still screamed. We finally made it home and he stopped.
Sunday, Zach got me up at 5:00. He wasn't hungry, he just was ready to wake up. Lilly got up at 7:30, as soon as I got Zach to take a nap and was planning on taking one myself. I made her breakfast and she wanted to give me her Mother's Day stuff she made at school. Oh, on Friday she gave me a Marigold. So she hands me this white bag that she drew on, which is pretty. Inside is this house she colored and if you open the door there's a picture of her. There was also another picture of her in a frame that she decorated. I got her hand prints and a list of things she said she was going to help me with on Mother's Day. 1-Help mom feed Zach. 2-Help cook. 3-Help Clean. There was a paper with a sentence at the top "When my mom smiles I" and she had to finish it and she said, "am nice and not mean." Then there was this certificate thing that said something along the lines of -this certifies that this is the best mom because- and she had to finish the sentence and she said, "She gives me any food that I want to eat." That made me laugh. 9:00 we went to wake hubby up and Lilly gave me what she bought when he took her out on Friday. She got me a singing card and a picture frame. The plan was to put a picture of me and the kids in there, but one doesn't exist, so I just got the frame. I told them that we'll get a picture soon and put in there.
We then go to hubby's mom's house and cook out on the grill. It was an ok day. All I really wanted was rest, but I got the opposite. I am so exhausted today. My weekend was busy. My body actually hurts today from lack of sleep. I got to spend the day with my kids and that's all that matters. I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and you visited/called your mom if you could.
Oh, something that made me smile yesterday...my brother, Chris texted me Happy Mother's Day! That was pretty awesome!

Fun and rain and eggs

So, this weekend was very eventful.
Friday, Lilly went with hubby's sister and her kids to see Rio. She liked it. I never heard of it. I don't watch that many commercials. Now that I have a DVR, I just skip them all. I hardly ever watch something that isn't recorded. Saturday there was an egg hunt at Lilly's school. There was going to be big inflatables there too, but the weather was bad. Later that day we went to hubby's sister's to color eggs so all the kids could do it together and we had a big cookout. I've eaten hot dogs all weekend.
We got caught out in the rain, and hail. It was crazy fun. For a short paragraph on that go to
http://1000awesomethings.com/2010/11/29/364-when-you-get-caught-in-the-rain-and-just-dont-care/  and read my last comment on that page.
Went home and colored more eggs...

Lilly enjoyed her Easter morning. She found all the eggs hidden around the house and she thought it was funny that Zach got baby food in his basket. I started him out on carrots last night. Next week we are moving to green beans. He liked the carrots. He didn't spit hardly any of it out. I'm still trying to get him use to the spoon. He is just now at the point where he will open his mouth for the spoon, sometimes, instead of me shoving it in.
Lilly got to play her new Just Dance Wii game. I did a short version of one song while hubby was in the shower. Its kinda fun.
We went to my mom's mom's house and EVERYONE was there. All of my cousins and their kids. The only ones that was missing was 3 of my brothers and my nephew. There are my grandma and grandpa and their 3 kids, then 11 grandkids, 10 great grandkids with one on the way. Zach is 3 months old and he isn't the youngest. One of my cousins had a little girl a couple weeks after Zach was born. My other cousin just got married and is pregnant. So the kids range from 8 or 9 all the way down to still in the tummy. My oldest brother's girlfriend was there with her 2 kids
We did an egg hunt there and ate some good food. Lilly wanted to hide the eggs instead of find them.
Then we headed off to my dad's mom's house. My brother that just 18 was there and the other brother that no one ever sees was there too. My 18 year old brother had to leave right after we got there to go to work, so we didn't really get to spend time with him. My uncle, dad, grandpa and other brother mostly stayed out in the building cleaning guns almost the whole time. Hubby played with Zach and Lilly and the other kids found the eggs I hid in the backyard. Kinda uneventful there. There's less people there. My step mom didn't come, but that's not unusual. I hardly ever see her anymore. My dad's parents... they have 2 kids and my dad is the only one out of them that has kids. Dad has 4 of us. My oldest brother has one kid and I have 2. That's it for the great grandkids on that side.
Today I get to work and I'm working away and then I get a phone call from a number I don't know. I answer...and its day care. I forgot to pack the formula. I had to leave work, go home, go to day care, give them his formula, and come back to work. Luckily I did it in about 45 minutes. Zach was conked out when I got there.  I put him in this really cute romper hubby's mom got him for Easter. Its brown and is sleeveless, so it looks like he's showin off his muscles. I should have taken a pic. They had already taken him for a walk and I guess it wore him out.
Hopefully it'll be pretty when I get today so I can take the kids out for a walk or something. Lilly has a ball game tomorrow. Its been over 2 weeks since she has even been on a ball field. We got her a purple bat bag for Easter. She loved it.

Good Friday

So I have decided that I will no longer climb the stairs here at work unless I have my cell with me. I went up 9 flights and was on my way back down when my knee gave out and I twisted my ankle. Thankfully I didn't fall or anything, but I very well could have. So now, not only do my legs hurt from climbing the stairs, but my right ankle is throbbing now.
This week has been a bit interesting. Today is a slow day here at work. Barely anyone is here. We should have had a party. I'm craving a big juicy burger. Might have to go out and get one....but its pouring the rain.
Wednesday, hubby lost his ring at work. Its a little loose on his finger anyway and I've been trying to get him to get it resized. He thought it flung off his hand when he was throwing stuff in the dumpster at work... the dumpster full of plastic powder. He tried his best to look for it in there, but there is no jumping in that stuff. After his co-workers convinced him that I was going to be really mad and kill him, he called and told me. I wasn't mad about it, I was a little upset, but I knew sooner or later he would lose it cuz it didn't fit him right. He was really upset, and understandably enough. I would cry my eyes out if I lost mine. He found it later that night when he went back to work to look for it. It wasn't in the dumpster, it was laying in the middle of the road. I was sooo happy that he found it.
There's a big Easter egg hunt at Lilly's school tomorrow along with free games, free food and free inflatables. We are going to that. Then after that we are doing another egg hunt at hubby's sister's house with all her kids too. Sunday, I get to visit my family that I haven't seen since February. I haven't seen any of my cousins since last July I think.
Zach's first Easter, Zach's first big holiday... and Lilly gets to be there to share it with him. Told hubby last night that we need to go out and get the kids some bunny ears to wear. I also need to find an egg shaped bib. I doubt I'll find one, but I'm going to look anyway. At least get him some kind of Easter bib. He's got a green Easter outfit. Don't know what Lilly's going to wear.
My bff has been trying to quit smoking. She started taking Chantix, but was having some problems with it. I really hope she does quit.

RAIN!!!

My office building flooded a bit on Friday. It rained and rained and was so horrible. The wind was crazy. Our garage elevator shaft was pouring the rain and our stairs were a waterfall. The second floor got it pretty bad, they need their carpet replaced.
Hubby left for his search and rescue class Friday and I worried all weekend about him being out in that crazy rain and all the storms we had all weekend. He was sleeping in a tent. He's fine though.... his dad got sick. He hasn't told me much about the trip, but what he did tell me.........it sucked.
Lilly had practice on Saturday. I got the kids up, showered and bathed them, fed them, and then we went to hubby's mom's house to give her some pictures. Then we went to a ball field to watch my nephew for a bit and then it was time to go to Lilly's practice. I took Zach, it rained. We all got soaked, except for Zach of course. He had it made. He got the umbrella and a nice ride in the stroller away from the mud. He loved it. He was back to his normal happy self on Saturday too. I could tell he was feeling much better.
Sunday I tried looking for yellow baseball socks for Lilly and couldn't find any. Zach was getting fussy so we stopped by my grandma's house........
Hubby came home yesterday and you could tell Zach was so happy to see him. It was so cute to see. He even got his first ride on a 4-wheeler...... just from the driveway into the garage.
Lilly's first game is today, unless she gets rained out. Its going to storm again today. She leaves this Saturday to go to a zoo with her father and he brings her back on Wednesday, but she decided she wants to spend the night with grandma, so I won't see her until Thursday evening of next week. That's just one week without seeing her, but it always feels like forever.
I know this entry is a bit unorganized and kinda short and scattered, but I'm just not into it today.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

I know doctors will tell you over and over again, not to lay a newborn on the tummy to sleep...that to prevent SID's, you must put them on their back or prop them on their side. Well....... when we brought Zach home from the hospital, we tried everything. The first couple of days of his life he liked to be swaddled, but after that he absolutely hated it and fought to get out. We tried everything. We tried swinging him, rocking him, even putting rolled up towels under and around him to make him feel like he's being held.... nothing, and I mean NOTHING worked. He cried and cried and never slept in his crib. The only time I could get him to sleep was when he was laying on my chest, and as much as I loved this, I got no sleep myself and got nothing else done. After a week of crying and no sleep for Zach AND me, hubby put him on his tummy. Peace and quiet. He was sleeping!!! I didn't sleep the first couple of nights because I was worried and I stayed up watching him or attentively listening to the monitor making sure I can hear him breathing. But he has always had good head control. When he was just 2 days old he was head-butting everyone. As time goes on his head control has gotten much better and he's not flinging it everywhere now or flopping it from side to side. It goes where he wants it to go now. So anyway... he still sleeps on his tummy. I can get him to sleep on his back if he is laying my legs or if I'm holding him against me, but other than that...he's a tummy sleeper. Lilly was to, and still is actually.

I got a phone call last night saying that Lilly's first softball or t-ball practice is Saturday. I started freaking out cuz her party is Saturday, but practice is a couple hours earlier, so we're good. Now, I say either softball or t-ball cuz I don't know which one I signed her up for. I think its t-ball until next year. I guess we'll see. I should have asked whenever her coach called me. His name is Shawn...something. Her next practice is Tuesday at 5, which means I'll get to leave work early, unless hubby's gonna take her then me and Zach can get there a little after 5. I'm so excited for her. I never played any sports. My mom wouldn't let me sign up for anything in elementary school and by the time she was ok with it, I didn't want to anymore. Cuz by the time you're 15, you should know the rules and how to play and be good at it... Anywho, she's excited. She wanted to play soccer too, but I had just missed the sign ups at the Y cuz, ya know, I was having a baby and all. The sign ups for the community came up right after I signed her up for t-ball. Next year, I'll be sure to sign her up at the Y for soccer and she can play softball for the community. That way she can do both cuz the Y does soccer from the last week of January until mid-March and softball starts the first weekend of April. I gotta find something for her to do during the summer....swimming maybe?
Hubby called me on my way to work today...I was almost at work, to tell me he locked his keys in the apartment. I asked him if he had an extra truck key, that way he can just go to work and not worry about getting in the house right now. He said he did have one, but its in his truck. A lot of good its doing there, isn't it? So I turned around and I went about 5 miles and he called me back to tell me that he forgot he had an extra house key in his wallet........I had to laugh at him.
Today is the kids doc appt. Gonna leave work around noon thirty, go get Zach, get Lilly, go get Lilly's glasses and if the weather is good and not too cold or raining, we will walk the 2 blocks from the eye doc to the other doc. Parking is cheaper at the eye doc. There its only $2, but its $4 at the hospital where the pediatrician is. Zach's getting shots, Lilly's just getting a checkup. Hubby's gonna meet us there and he's getting Lilly to take her shopping for cleats and I'm taking the baby home. I know he's not gonna be feeling good after his shots. Hubby's first idea was that he could pick up Zach and I could take Lilly shopping for cleats, until I reminded him that Zach will probably be a bit sick and sore. Then he wanted to trade. If hubby doesn't get Lilly today after their appt, he's gonna take her tomorrow while I'm getting my bubby a tattoo and hubby's mom is gonna watch Zach. These are the things we talked about last night, but I don't think we ever came to a conclusion as to what we were going to do. Either way works, I guess.
Ordered Lilly's cake yesterday. Hubby called this one local bakery and they said they could do it for $55. We want 1/2 a sheet cake, with 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 vanilla with iCarly on it somehow..like a picture or whatever. I called Walmart and they said it would only be $25...guess who we're going with.
We got hit pretty good by a nice storm yesterday. When I picked Lilly up she was giving me a lecture about what you can and can't do during a thunderstorm. Apparently her teacher was teaching them this stuff. She would say not to do something and said that her teacher said so. Then she started freaking out when she saw lightning on our way home. The wind was blowing really hard, knocked over a couple trees in my neighborhood, the lights went out along the main road and I heard that there was strong hail in some parts, but I didn't see any. I spent a good amount of the storm standing at the front door watching the neighbor boy chase his trash cans down the street.
So, yesterday...thanks to the http://www.1000awesomethings.com/ blog, I wrote an email to my future self 5 years from yesterday. The awesome thing for yesterday was "Sending yourself emails to do stuff in the future" like a reminder to call someone or pick something up.... well a commenter~ Carissa (hey I went to school with a Carissa...wonder if its the same one) gave us all this link http://futureme.org/ to email our future selves. So I got on there and picked 5 years from yesterday and wrote myself this big long email about what I hope to be doing in 5 years, how things are now, and so on. Very exciting. There was also this other commenter (commenter isn't a word, but I have no idea what else to use right now) ~ Jen told us about http://www.ohdontforget.com/ so I got on there and I wrote a reminder for my bff to tell me happy birthday ON my birthday this year.... she only forgot once a few years ago. Pretty funny stuff.
